70 years old, A native of Versailles (Yvelines), Michel Aupetit is what we call a “late vocation”. It was at the age of 40 that he entered the seminary, after having worked as a general practitioner in Colombes (Hauts-de-Seine) from 1979 to 1990.
Ordained in 1995 at the age of 44 for the diocese of Paris by Cardinal Jean-Marie Lustiger, he had a dazzling career: vicar, then pastor of several parishes, he was appointed vicar general of Cardinal André Vingt-Trois in 2006. He was then ordained auxiliary bishop of Paris in 2013, before being appointed bishop of Nanterre in April 2014 In 2017, at age 66, he became Archbishop of Paris.
