After having restructured the ailing group, the former head of Tradex has just been appointed to its head. Its mission: to make it a cabotage giant in the Gulf of Guinea and one of the leaders in the distribution of petroleum products in Cameroon.
He was believed to be retired since his departure from Tradex, the subsidiary of Cameroon’s National Hydrocarbons Company (SNH), which he carried in 2000 to the baptismal font to make it the multinational trading company that it has become. It is not so.
On November 18, the supervisory board of the Gulfin group, chaired by René Mbayen, appointed Jean Perrial Nyodog as president of Gulfin-Camship (Gulfcam), the new entity specializing in the transport of petroleum products and maritime transport.
He is a man of challenges who was not yet ready for retirement
“It’s a new challenge. I’m relaunching myself, ”blows the 64-year-old Cameroonian boss who says he feels capable of still working for a decade. “It’s a new window of opportunity that allows him to remain present in an activity that fascinates him, while opening up to another that he is discovering. He is a man of challenges who was not yet ready for retirement, ”slips one of his relatives.
